The Lionel Courchene Park Legacy Endowment Fund was created in memory of Caroline Schellekens, a beloved Surrey Canadian Baseball Association (SCBA) volunteer and registrar. Managed by SurreyCares Community Foundation, the fund was established in 2022 and raised $10,000 through dedicated fundraising following Caroline's passing. These funds were used to install two new park benches near the concession and complete a mural celebrating the park’s role in minor baseball. Caroline’s passion for baseball and her community continues to shine through these meaningful initiatives.

The fund is still active and can help support ongoing improvements to the park for the enjoyment of the entire community—especially those who love baseball. This endowment is the only way to make a charitable donation that directly supports SCBA and enhancements to Lionel Courchene Park. Every contribution will help keep the park vibrant for generations to come!
