For half a century, our community has come together each spring to celebrate the start of baseball season! From T-ballers taking their first swings to seasoned players stepping up to the plate, Opening Day has always been about bringing people together, celebrating teamwork, tradition, and sharing a love for the game.
One of our most cherished traditions is the Surrey Canadian Baseball Association Opening Day Parade, where teams proudly march onto the field with their handmade banners, showing off their spirit and creativity. The celebration continues with speeches, player and coach introductions, prizes for the best banner, and the time-honored tradition of the mayor throwing the first pitch!
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Fans can enjoy raffles, delicious ballpark food, and fun activities for all ages. This day is also a time to honor our league’s history, recognize our incredible volunteers, and celebrate the community that has kept baseball alive for 50 seasons.
