SCBA is pleased to announce the following Winter Clinics, run by Tyler Lawson, Ryan Kaplanis & other guest instructors.  Both Tyler & Ryan currently coach for the U18 White Rock Tritons of the BCPBL.  The BCPBL is the highest level of High-School ball offered in the country.  The league has graduated several players into the MLB such as Tyler O’Neil & Brett Lawrie.  Players will have the option to register for Hitting or Pitching clinics.  Players may also register for both. 

Clinic Dates:

Tuesday's: Nov, 29th & Dec, 6th & 13th
Thursday’s: Dec, 1st, 8th, & 15th

Time Slots:

5 to 6 PM - Mosquito & Pee Wee
6 to 7 PM - Mosquito & Pee Wee
7 to 8 PM - Pee Wee & Bantam

Cost:
$150 for Hitting or Pitching
$250 for BOTH Hitting & Pitching

Clinic Information:

Players will receive high end instruction, tailored to their suitable age group.  All players will get ample 1 on 1 time with an instructor during the sessions.  If doing both clinics, you will do 1 hour of hitting followed by 1 hour of pitching or vice versa. 

The Hitting Clinics will cover: proper mechanics, the mental side of hitting, proper load, how to generate bat speed, situational hitting & a better understanding of the “Why”. 

The Pitching Clinics will cover: proper mechanics, proper arm care before & after, tools to increase velocity & control & introductions to secondary pitches. 

Instructor Bios

Tyler Lawson is a former SCBA player who moved on to play college baseball for the University of the Fraser Valley.  He was a Pitcher & Infielder.  He was selected to represent Team BC at the Under 21 Canadian Nationals in 2016.  Currently he’s the Head Coach for the U18 White Rock Tritons of the BCPBL.  The Tritons program has had 18 players drafted into the Major League of Baseball (MLB).  Tyler spent 4 years previously  as the Head Coach of the South Fraser Giants College Prep Program.

Ryan Kaplanis also played college baseball at the University of the Fraser Valley.  He played highschool locally for the Whalley Chiefs of the BCPBL.  He was a 2nd team all star in 2015.  Currently he serves as the Hitting & Outfield Coach for the White Rock Tritons.  Ryan spent 4 years previously as an assistant with the Giants College Prep Program.

There will also be 1-2 current college baseball players assisting with each session.  These players bring a unique teaching style, as still being players themselves.
