Announcement - Baseball BC Moves to Full Team Practices

July 9, 2020

Baseball BC is altering its current Phase 2 Return to Play protocol allowing outdoor practices to increase from 10 players & 2 coaches to full team practices effective Friday July 10th. Reminder, baseball is still in Phase 2 of viaSport’s Return to Play Safety Action Plan which means all Phase 2 etiquette & procedures still apply to baseball activities in BC. Refer to guidelines here https://baseball.bc.ca/return-to-play

For SCBA, this means that our programs will be able to have ‘full team’ participation, including more than 10 players and more than 2 coaches during practice sessions.  All other elements of our Safety Plan remain in place.   See Covid-19 link on our website for all of this information. https://www.surreycanadian.com/page/show/5821457-covid19-info-policies

This change will have the greatest positive impact on our merged AA / AAA programs at Peewee, Bantam and Midget.  We will continue to work with two Mosquito A groups, one U13 Peewee A group, and two U15 Bantam A groups.  We will take this opportunity to bring  our Bantam A groups together once per week for full team practices.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to a safe return to play for our players.  It has been fun to see the joy of the game return to the faces of our athletes and coaches.  We hope that the provincial bodies will move us along to Phase 3 in the coming weeks – which of course would allow for a return to competition.  But in the meantime, there is lots to work on skill development and conditioning wise.

If anyone has any concerns after our first full week of return to play, please feel free to contact any member of our executive.
