Hitting & Fielding: Tuesdays & Saturdays 
Pitching: Thursdays & Sundays  

Players: Mosquito (2009-2010), PeeWee (2007-2008), Bantam (2005-2006), Midget (2002-2004)

(Also includes an opportunity for volunteer SCBA coaches to act as guest coach in an observer capacity for free, as a development opportunity; contact our Coach Development Director Marty van-der-Loos coachmarty14@gmail.com for details on guest coach registration)

Tuesday/Thursday Time Slots:  

Mosquito: 6:30-7:30 pm 

PeeWee: 7:30-8:30 pm 

Bantam/Midget: 8:30-9:30 pm 

 

Saturday/Sunday Time Slots: 

Mosquito: 12-1:00 pm 

PeeWee: 1-2:00 pm 

Bantam/Midget: 2-3:00 pm

Pitching: November 28th, December 1st, 5th, 8th, 12th, 15th, 19th & 22nd

Pitching Clinic Information:  

Surrey Canadian Baseball Association is pleased to announce that members of the South Fraser Giants Midget AAA coaching staff will be offering pitching clinics through four weeks, totaling 8 sessions.  Please note these sessions are for players who are regular pitchers.  These pitchers can expect to learn proper pitching mechanics, proper arm care before and after throwing, increased velocity & control, pitching philosophies, In-Game situational pitching and different techniques to increase pitching success.  For the 8 sessions, the cost will be $125. Instructor Bios: 

Tyler Lawson is a former pitcher for the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades of the Canadian College Baseball Conference.  He is now the head coach of the Midget AAA South Fraser Giants. Tyler’s experience includes being a member of Team BC at the Under 21 Canadian Nationals and has helped run clinics at the Yard Baseball Academy in Chilliwack for the past 3 years along with coaching and running other clinics at Surrey Canadian.   

J.R Morill is a former pitcher for the Douglas College Royals of the Northwest Athletic Conference.  He is now the Pitching Coach with the Midget AAA South Fraser Giants.  J.R. has an extensive coaching background such as winning a provincial championship with the SCBA Peewee A team, & serving as a pitching coach with the Ridge Meadows Bantam AAA team & Surrey-Newton Bantam AA team. 

Hitting & Fielding Clinic Information:  

Surrey Canadian Baseball Association is pleased to announce that members of the South Fraser Giants Midget AAA coaching staff will be offering hitting & fielding clinics.  These clinics will run for four weeks, totaling 8 sessions.  These two coaches both played baseball for the University of the Fraser Valley.  Players can expect to learn proper situational hitting, hitting for power & contact, how to generate quicker bat speed, using your whole body, approach at the plate, quality at-bats, as well as fielding footwork & mechanics.  For the 8 sessions, the cost will be $150. Ryan Kaplanis is a former outfielder for the University of the Fraser Valley of the Canadian College Baseball Conference.  He is the hitting coach with the Midget AAA South Fraser Giants.  He played his high school baseball with the Whalley Chiefs of the British Columbia Premier Baseball League (BCPBL).  In his senior year, Ryan was named a BCPBL Second Team All Star as an Outfielder.  He finished in the Top 10 in batting average and led his team hitting .370.
