Batting Cage Fund Raising Programs

Invitation for Expressions of Interest for Sponsorship of Surrey Canadian Baseball Association (SCBA) Batting Cage Project Completion

In 2006, the Surrey Canadian Baseball Association Executive Council were pleased to announce the opening of our Batting Cage after two years of hard work. Many people have commented on what a great facility it is. SCBA parents and coaches believe it will have a significant effect on improving the skill level of our players.

Although the Batting Cage is already in use, there is still more work to be done. Ventilation and heating are the next phases of the project to be undertaken.

While these improvements will cost a significant amount of money, they will allow SCBA players, as well as other community associations, access to a year-around training facility. SCBA invites local businesses or organizations to contribute to this project in the form of fundraising, material supplies or technical expertise.

1.  BOTTLE & CAN DEPOSIT DONATION PROGRAM

This program has been ongoing since October 2003 when we set up an account with the Fleetwood Bottle Depot to receive donations on behalf of SCBA. This donation program can be used by any individuals, groups, teams, etc. that are interested in contributing to this important cause. We encourage SCBA members to ask their relatives, friends and neighbors to contribute to this program. 100% of the funds raised will be used directly for the Batting Cage construction project. Anyone interested in participating in this program can do so by following this simple procedure:

1. Take all your returnables (cans, bottles, containers, etc.) to Fleetwood Bottle Depot, located at 15093 Fraser Highway in Surrey. Their hours of operation are 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Saturday, and 10:00am - 5:00pm Sunday. The phone number is (604) 585-3544.
2. Request that your refund by put on the Surrey Canadian Baseball Association account, and obtain a transaction receipt.
3. E-mail or phone in the details of the donation (date, receipt #, amount, name of donor to Brian Davis - E-mail: brian.davis1@telus.net or Phone: (604) 583-0960
4. Retain your receipt in a safe place. If required for accounting purposes, we will contact you for a copy.

2.  BATTING CAGE DONATION DRIVE

Once again this year, we are seeking donations to the Batting Cage fund. A donation form is posted below. A charitable tax receipt will be issued for donations of $20.00 or more. All money raised goes into a Batting Cage fund used strictly for upgrades and enhancements to the Batting Cage.
